YOUR GOALS.
YOUR FAMILY.
YOUR BUDGET.

Your college budget includes more than a tuition figure. Planning ahead helps you understand the academic costs, the Realife experience, and the everyday expenses that come with being a student.

Begin with a current cost sheet for your degree and enrollment plan. Then look at your financial aid options and personal budget so you can make a decision with a clearer picture of your own costs.

Request the full cost sheet and an individual estimate from SEU Staff. A useful estimate identifies the academic year, credit load, and treatment of practicum scholarships.

WHAT TO PLAN FOR.

Tuition & fees

Tuition and fees depend on your degree and enrollment plan. Review tuition, the site fee, technology or student fees, and program-specific charges separately. Your course load can affect the total.

Missions experience

The international trip fee is included in the site fee. You’ll also have opportunities for guided fundraising to help with additional trip expenses. Build those extra expenses into your personal budget as you prepare.

Everyday expenses

Plan for meals, transportation, and housing separately from tuition and fees. Living at home and renting locally lead to different budgets. Include travel, books, supplies, technology, and additional trip expenses in your personal budget.

Financial support

Federal and state financial aid may be available to qualified students. The FAFSA is part of exploring eligibility, alongside any applicable scholarships. Your aid and remaining cost depend on your circumstances and enrollment.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED.

How do I get a complete cost breakdown?

Is the international trip included?

The international trip fee is included in the site fee. Plan separately for additional trip expenses. Guided fundraising gives you opportunities to raise money toward those extra expenses.

What should I budget for beyond tuition and fees?

Budget for meals, transportation, housing, books, supplies, technology, and additional trip expenses. Living at home and renting locally will lead to different totals.

Can I apply for financial aid?

Qualified students may be eligible for federal or state aid and applicable scholarships. Eligibility and award amounts depend on your circumstances and enrollment.

What should I ask about the practicum scholarship?

Check eligibility, enrollment requirements, and whether the scholarship is already included in your estimate. This prevents counting the same support twice.

Can I work while studying?

When planning employment, account for scheduled time at Realife on Tuesdays and Thursdays, required weekend service attendance and ministry participation, and coursework outside those hours. Review the current schedule before committing to work hours.
